Where It Started…
My love of travel and desire to explore started very early on. My great grandmother was born and raised in Africa, and I grew up hearing all the stories and my love for the continent blossomed. My grandfather was stationed in Japan for years, and he had a deep respect for the culture and people, and passed those things on to me. In second grade, Mrs. Pitts reinforced my wanderlust. We created “passports” and learned about different countries and cultures around the world…all of which I couldn’t WAIT to explore.
I went to college in Alaska, where my major was Wildlife Biology. And my minor? Arctic Survival. Yes, that’s a real thing…at least in Alaska 😉 But, my goal was to travel the world studying animals and living among them. You know, Julie of the Wolves style.
When I married a military man, the adventures continued. Being stationed in England for years, we were able to experience even more of the world, and introduce our children to travel from the time they were born (one of them in my kitchen). Of course, I didn’t know it then, but all those travels would one day lead to…
Current Day…
All of it led up to the start of Cheers & Sunshine Travel Co. Being part of the professional travel industry for several years, I have helped hundreds of people vacation and experience the world with thoughtfully and meaningfully curated trips.
I have several accolades, destination specialization accreditations and am always traveling to personally vet properties and experiences and continually learning more so that YOU can have the best possible travel experience…with none of the stress. When I discovered how much I loved doing this, and how deep my passion for helping others in their personal (and professional) journeys ran, it quickly became a dream to start my OWN agency.
And with the support of so many, that dream is here, in Cheers & Sunshine Travel Co.
